Please do not use these addresses for product support; use [email protected] so a real abuse report is not buried.

What to include.

For email abuse:

  • the complete message including full headers(forward it as an attachment, or use “show original”), so we can find the sender and the message;
  • the date and time you received it, and the address it was sent to;
  • why you consider it abusive (you never signed up, it is a scam, it is harassing you);
  • whether you have already tried to unsubscribe, and what happened.

For hosted content: the URL, what is wrong with it, and, for a rights complaint, who owns the right, the work in question, and a statement that you are authorised to complain.

What happens next.

  1. Acknowledgement: we acknowledge reports within one business day.
  2. Triage: we identify the workspace behind the message or content and judge the severity. Phishing, malware and content involving the exploitation of minors are urgent; we deal with them before other reports.
  3. Action: following the Acceptable use policy, we may ask the customer to fix it, limit or pause their sending, suspend the account or terminate it. We may act before contacting the customer where people are at risk.
  4. Suppression: we suppress the reporting address for the offending workspace so it is not mailed again, and, if you ask, for every workspace.
  5. Follow-up: where you gave a reply address, we tell you the outcome in general terms. We cannot always share details about a customer.

Mailbox provider feedback loops.

Some mailbox providers tell us automatically when someone clicks “report spam”. We suppress that address immediately, and the complaint counts toward the thresholds in the Anti-spam policy.

Bad-faith reports.

Reports that are false, or made to harass a customer, may be disregarded.
